Laptops And Cellphones
Leave your laptop at home and your cell phone off while in the theater. The speakers at TEDxNASA merit your full attention, and laptops and cell phones are a big distraction -- not just for you, but for everyone around you. To preserve an immersive experience, we won’t allow any cell phone or laptop use in the Ferguson Center theater - with one exception, there will be a section for those people who are using live social networking. We will have a separate section for them to minimize any distractions that could cause. You will be permitted to use cell phones in the lobby area and outside.
What can I expect at the event?
TEDxNASA will bring together over 1,700 attendees & 20+ presenters. The TEDx audience is just as important as the speakers on stage. Over the course of the day, there will be blocks of time set aside for breakout sessions so attendees may participate in open, engaging discussions. Attendees and speakers are encouraged to actively participate and stay for the whole event.
What can I expect from the speakers?
These intriguing speakers are top in their fields across a variety of disciplines. Each has been carefully selected to share one core idea worth spreading to you, their immediate audience, and ultimately to the millions of people who will watch electronically. Speakers are challenged to give “the talk of their lives” in 18 minutes or less. There are no keynotes, no podiums, no panels, and no Q&A. However, there will be plenty of opportunities for discussion and interaction with speakers and others throughout the day. Our goal is to create a community of thought unlike anything you have experienced.
